Let’s Get Custom Clothes made in Thailand
As you walk around the many streets in Thailand, you will come across many shops that offer custom clothing. You can get anything from pants, suits, shirts, and jackets made exactly to your style and measurements. You can also get almost any material and color.
While in Phuket, I checked out one of the stores and got some custom pants made. I highly recommend the shop I went to, New David Jone, located in OTOP Shopping Paradise in Patong, Phuket. I am planning on ordering some to be shipped to me.
Getting Custom Clothing Made In Thailand
Upon entering we were greeted by a tailor and started flipping through magazines to make some decisions. I knew I wanted some slacks. After we talked for a little. I decided to get some slacks made from a wrinkle-resistant fabric in a purple color. My work wardrobe consists of a lot of blues, greys, and beiges and I wanted to add some color.
Once the color was selected, he had me choose a slack style. I headed to my TikTok and Pinterest to locate some images to use as inspiration. Once I showed him it. He did my measurements and told me to come back in a few hours.
I almost bought a blazer but opted out at the last minute. He did measure me for the blazer!
Trying on the Custom Made Clothes
After a few hours, I headed back to the shop to try on the pants. They fit perfectly and I was very impressed with the design.
I did not need many adjustments made. He took them back to make the minor adjustments and said to come back in an hour or so.
An hour later, I walked out with my first pair of custom pants with pockets made perfectly for me.
The Cost and Time for the Custom Clothes to be Made
The cost is dependent on the fabric that you choose, however, my pants cost about $100 USD. The process overall took about 5 hours. It took me a while to choose and then he made the pants for my friend and me. After he made them and made adjustments we were able to pick them up. We did this all on the day we were leaving to head to the airport so it is possible to have it done in one day but I probably would not do that again just in case they are busy.
Conclusion
I would highly recommend getting something made. You can choose almost anything you want that fits your needs. Next time, I will probably do a blazer and another pair of slacks in a different style.

I also found that if you took a dress or pants that you like already, they were really good at copying them in a fabric that you like. Can you do that in Thailand too?
I did not try that. But now I will need to try that when I go back to Thailand.
I am (happily) surprised this can all be done in one day–that is ideal given often hectic travel schedules.
oh my gosh, this would fulfill a dream for me! I am always in between sizes and I have always said I would love to have custom clothes. Having custom clothes made in one day is incredible!
