How many points?

Many points strategies involve opening new credit cards. While I sometimes do this, I just fnished my last sign up bonus for 2024. Oustide of the 40,000 points I earned using that credit card, Chase Ink Business Cash, I focused on earning throughout the month to fund future leisure travel. Since I live in NYC, I earn a decent amount of points from commuting to and from work each day and putting every expense on a credit card.

Points Accumulation until September 14, 2024

September Recap

My points accumulation for this issue of How many points was from August 18 to September 14, 2024. Since August 17, I have traveled to Maryland, Wisconsin, and New Jersey and Boston!

This helped to finish up the sign-up bonus on my second Chase Ink Business Cash, earnng me 40,000 chase points. I used this to pay for some trip coming up in October. I am super excited about these October trips and will post more info as they fully become planned out!

Maryland was one of my favorite trips in August. I stayed near the water and the views from the roof deck of the restaurant were so pretty after it rained. Also, the food was amazing at the places I tried, Choptank and Masons Lobster.

October Goals

For October, I am planning to go to New Jersey, California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Colorado. I am really excited about October because I am also heading to my first Travel Conference!

I want to make Gold Medallion on Delta, so I am planning on purchasing as many flights on Delta as possible however, their prices are normally higher than many other airlines making it a little difficult when I am also trying to save money.

I can also spend on my American Express Delta Platinum Card, to earn MQDs, I try to use it often but in many instances I earn more points using other cards. Sadly the conversion rate for dollars to MQDS on the card is not good either. Its $20 to 1 MQD. So it will take thousands for me to earn MQDs for status in this way. It is better for me to purchase flights.

My last goal for October is to use my Companion Pass for Delta.
