Beaches on your mind, Let’s Fly to Curacao on Points
Curacao is located in the Southern Caribbean and part of the ABC islands that are close to South America. The ABC Islands are Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. It is known for its World Heritage Site, Willemstad and it is the only island in the Caribbean that has a site. It is an ideal location for a beach vacation as the year-round temperature averages around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally, if you drink, you may know it for its blue liquor.
Fly to Curacao
This came together as a girl’s trip. Once we chose the dates, we began looking for flights and found that Jetblue was our best option for flights. At the time we were looking, I was waiting for my referral bonus from one of my Chase Business Cards and to get my sign-up bonus from my American Express Gold card. So I had very few miles that I could spend.
My flight heading to Curacao cost $217.30 or 15,800 points + $5.60 in taxes. I paid for it in cash using my American Express Gold because it gives 3x points on flights booked directly with airlines. For my return, I booked on Jetblue using points. The cash price was $351 but I paid 18,500 points + $82.27 in taxes. I did transfer points from my Chase Ultimate Rewards Account. On Jetblue, I had about 5000 points so I transferred, 16,000 because I did not want to use all of the ones I had in the Jetblue account. That equates to about 1.5 cents per point which falls in line with what most value JetBlue points at.
Edit: Two days before my trip the return ticket dropped and I was able to get 2,700 points back.
The Hotel
We did look into a few hotels, Dreams Curacao, Zoetry, and St. Tropez Boutique Hotel. However, since we were booking so late most of the all-inclusive had sold out of 2 bedroom rooms. So instead of going with a hotel, we decided to choose an Airbnb.
One of the girls booked the Airbnb, I made sure she used the Delta Airbnb link so that she could earn Delta points on the booking on top of the points she would get on her credit card. Yes, I passed up a points-earning opportunity lol. Once we return, if we love the Airbnb, I will add a link!
Pre-Booking Excursions
Once we decided on our flight and booked our stay, we searched social media to figure out what things we were going to do to create our itinerary. Since it’s an island, we are including a boat day and because they are known for a liqueur we also added a distillery tour. We will spend the rest of the time exploring the World Heritage Site, Willemstad, and lying out by the beach before heading out to partake in the nightlife.
We each booked our own excursions so that we could get the points for it! I also made sure to book via a card, Capital One Venture, that would give me cash back for bookings on Viator! So I was able to double-dip to get the most out of the bookings.
Conclusion
I am so excited to head to Curacao in a few days to explore the island and experience the vibes. This will be my first trip as a blogger, so I will make sure to document as much as I can so that you can plan an amazing trip to Curacao as well. Also, if you want to bring your drone to capture all the amazing moments you will have to register your drone by filling out some paperwork, I made a post about the process that you can check out, Bringing A Drone to Curacao.
I am planning on using Airalo for my phone while I am there so that I do not end up with a crazy phone bill.

Wow sounds amazing
I was in nearby Bonaire, which is great for scuba diving. The ABC islands and their Dutch influence is very interesting.
