Sands Harbor Resort and Marina Hotel Review
Are you looking for a Pompano Beach hotel that is located on the Marina, has great views, an on-site restaurant, and is close to the beach? Then look no further than the Sand Harbor Resort and Marina in Pompano Beach for your stay!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in March and look forward to returning. The temperature was perfect, right below 80, and the staff were amazing. My first stop will be the restaurant to get the fish tacos because they were so good.
Sands Harbor Resort and Marina is located about 25 minutes away from Fort Lauderdale Airport. This Pompano Beach hotel has a variety of rooms from standard to penthouse to adjoining, so it is able to meet your solo traveler needs or family needs.
In addition, you have access to watersports, amazing food, and if you are concerned about safety, they have security at night! What makes it even better is the front desk attendants, they are so amazing and make you feel right at home.

What are the rooms like at Sands Harbor Resort and Marina?
While the rooms did feel a bit outdated, the beds and views from the rooms are amazing. I fell asleep so easily each night and did not want to get up in the mornings because I was so comfortable.
Upon arrival, I considered upgrading to the penthouse, but I ended up staying in the 2 Queen bedroom for the duration of my stay.
I loved that the rooms had separate sinks and showers so that I was able to spread out whenever I needed to get ready for the day. There was a ton of counter space in case you need space to do your makeup and store your toiletries if you unpack. I am not a big unpacker when staying at hotels, but I did leave out my toiletries due to all the space I had.
In addition, each room had a fridge and microwave, which feels like a luxury nowadays, as many of the hotels I have recently stayed in do not have them.
Finally, my favorite part about the rooms was the balconies overlooking the water. If you get a room that faces the marina, you will be able to watch the boats come in and dock while drinking your morning coffee. My room was facing the town area, so i had skyline views and not water. The penthouse I toured had marina views, and it was amazing during the few minutes I stayed in there.
What are the hotel’s amenities?

Your stay includes a $10 food credit daily that can be used at their on-site restaurant, free breakfast, and access to a pool. The on-site restaurant has great food, and there is a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 pm – 6 pm. I suggest getting the fish tacos. I used my food credits on the tacos each day. I got them twice during my stay. There are nights when there is live music, but get there early as the seats do fill up fast.
In the morning, you are able to get breakfast, but it is not a hot breakfast; instead, it is a boxed breakfast that you pick up at the front desk. It includes fruit, yogurt, a muffin, and a small water. If you want a hot breakfast, I would suggest heading to How You Brewin?, which is located nearby.
The pool, while small, had multiple chairs for you to relax on while you enjoyed drinks or food from the restaurant. They even have an outdoor shower to wash yourself off before heading back to your room. Keep in mind that the scuba diving shop uses it in the morning before 11 am to do their lessons.
Other things to note about your stay: If you rent a car, they do have valet parking that includes in-and-out privileges for guests staying overnight.
If you are interested in watersports, this Pompano Beach hotel is in the perfect location. Nearby, you have access to parasailing, scuba diving, jet skis, and boat rentals. I got my scuba certification during my stay here at the South Florida Diving School, which is located less than 3 minutes walking away, and they use the pool here for the training. The companies that do jet skis, boat rentals, and parasailing are located next door to the resort, making this Pompano Beach hotel the one-stop location for all of your water sport needs.
Things to do near Sands Harbor Resort and Marina Pompano Beach

At the end of the dock for Sands Harbor Resort and Marina is a stop for the Water Taxi, which helps you to explore more of Pompano Beach in addition to connecting you to the water taxi that heads up the Fort Lauderdale waterways.
I checked this out while staying at the resort and loved being able to learn more about the Pompano Beach area in addition to seeing all the amazing houses alongside the waterway. These houses will have you looking up real estate in the Pompano Beach Area.

Finally, the other must-do things from staying at this Pompano Beach hotel are heading to Pompano Beach nearby. It is a short walk from the hotel, and heading there at sunrise gives amazing views.
On my last day in Pompano Beach, I went to the beach right before Sunrise, and it was such a peaceful experience. The beach had very few people, and I was able to sit out and watch the sunrise with the waves slowly coming up the beach.
