Gifts for Travelers and Frequent Flyers
One week, I found myself hopping between Texas, New Orleans, and Minnesota before finally landing back in New York, five flights in seven days. By flight four, I was exhausted and begging for a new neck pillow to help me fall asleep more easily.
That week was exhausting, but it taught me which items actually make travel bearable and changed how I traveled from then on. Whether it is a red-eye with no working chargers or a four-hour layover with limited food options, having the right travel essentials can turn chaos into comfort.
This is not your typical holiday gift guide filled with trending TikTok travel junk. These are the tried-and-tested items I personally use, love, and swear by after years of living out of a carry-on and sometimes a checked bag, cause at this point I might need the luxury of not having luggage as I drag myself through the airport.
Whether you are a frequent flyer, road trip regular, or shopping for someone who is, this list offers a mix of tech, comfort, budget-friendly finds, and a few luxury items, just in case you want to splurge. Oh, and the list will have some great travel gifts for those trying to up their travel content creation game.
These are my make-travel-better items, and I would love to hear yours in the comments!
Best Travel Gifts under $25
Let’s start our gifts for travelers with a charger, since it’s saved me more times than I can count.
Portable Charger
This is one of the portable chargers that I always have with me when traveling. It charges my phone at least twice before I have to recharge it, and I have recently started using it to charge my AirPods on the way to the gym because if you are anything like me, you forget to charge all the things.

Universal Travel Adapter
This adapter has gone with me on trips to Brazil, London, and South Africa. It is compact, and I love that it has both USB-C and USB charging ports at the bottom, making it a great way to charge multiple devices at once. I use it to charge a few of my devices, like my Apple Watch, portable charger, and then plug in my flat iron at the same time. It really has just enough charging ports for everything in my life.
Luggage Scale
Luggage Scale: This is a perfect travel gift for the overpacker, cause we will not always get a lenient gate agent. I like to have all the outfits and think I need 10 outfits for a 3-day trip. However, some airlines are super strict about weight, and this has saved me a few times.
When I was heading from Bangkok to Phuket via AirAsia, they charged for any overweight bags. I used this scale to ensure my bag meets their specifications to avoid the additional charges. I was trying to get custom clothes made in Phuket and wanted to make sure I would have space for them.
Pill Case:
As someone who feels like they need to take all of their pills on every trip, this is helpful. There is no real way to keep bringing every single pill in its own bottle; it takes up so much space. It is kinda embarrassing to be running through the airport with the bottles rattling as you are sprinting to your gate.
Towel Holder:
I got these for my mom when we went to the Bahamas, and she absolutely loved them. They are great for keeping your towel in place, especially if you are like me and cannot sit still and have to move around every 10 minutes.
Other Frequent Traveler Gifts:
I typically recommend a door lock, but I have not found one that has worked for me. If you have a recommendation, please let me know in the comments. So now, instead, I still put a chair in front of the door when solo traveling.
Also, I am sure you may be shocked that I have not mentioned compression socks, but I have not used them yet, should I?
Best Travel Gifts between $25 – $100
Airfly
While I am starting to move away from AirPods, I still use them and do not love the headphones that airlines give out. This device has been a game-changer; it lets me still use the in-seat entertainment and not always rely on what I should have downloaded on my phone. I literally never remember to download movies on my phone or iPad.
Language Learning Apps or Tutoring:
My favorite is italki because I was able to get a Spanish tutor for $5 for a 30-minute session, with Duolingo as an honorable mention, which I sometimes use to supplement my tutoring. Having a Spanish tutor made me feel like I was actually learning the language, and I have found that I can carry on a conversation in person better than when I was only doing Duolingo.
My tutor has assigned me homework to watch Spanish movies or even listen to her Spotify playlist, and we chat about it. I love that when we meet, she also has a list of topics for me to choose from to talk about, so that each session feels different and I have some choice in what I am learning. For this travel gift, I would purchase a gift card if you are interested in giving someone language lessons.

Travel backpack
I absolutely love this backpack, and it has become my everyday one. It includes a charger, space for shoes and wet clothing, and a spot for electronics like your laptop.
I’ve had it for two years and still use it to this day. I make sure to keep a pair of shoes and often a bathing suit in the wet part so that if my checked luggage does not make it, I have something to wear. I have not used the charger, because I have a portable, but maybe I will start.
Best High-end Travel Gifts They Will Genuinely Love ($100+)
So if you want to drop some money or maybe it is their birthday close to Christmas, like mine, here are some options:

Noise-cancelling headphones AirPods Pro
I use my AirPods Pro on every single flight, every. single. one. The noise cancellation helps drown out the engine hum and even those chatty neighbors who want to talk the entire flight. One time, I had a red-eye from LA to New York, and I managed to sleep for hours straight because they blocked everything out. I love that I can switch between noise-canceling and transparency mode depending on where I am in the airport.
This is a splurge item, yes, but if you’re shopping for someone who travels often, works remotely, or values peace amid chaos, these are a fantastic gift. Or, you know, a gift to yourself—because you deserve to hear your Spotify playlist in peace.

Apple Air Tags
Since I am no longer always a carry-on warrior, I have become dependent on Apple AirTags to check on my checked luggage. These were literally the best travel gifts I have received. When I went to Cabo a few years ago, this came in handy because I needed to ensure my luggage made the flight and didn’t have to shop for clothes at the airport.
Calpak Checked Luggage
This is my tried-and-true checked luggage set. I have had it for almost 4 years, and it has survived every long-haul flight from NYC to Africa, Brazil, London, and Thailand. Even with how rough they are with bags, this bag is still in one piece, and I never have to worry about it. I can pack for over a week in it because it has so much space. I am not looking forward to the day that I have to replace this. If you want to get this for less than the price on the website, I highly recommend checking out Marshalls.
Travel Gifts for the Content Creator in your life
Now that we have the typical gifts out of the way, let’s zoom in on specifics. Even if you’re not a content creator, we should document our lives for the memories; you do not have to share them. Looking back, I wish I had documented more of my family vacations as the older generations age, so that I have more memories and pictures of them. So let’s jump into the travel gifts for the person who wants to document their life.

Drone
One of my favorite content creation purchases has been my Hover Air. I do have a regular-sized drone, but I love that this one has different functions. This is great for running because it will follow you, or use it while you are lounging by a pool, because it takes amazing Birdseye videos you can use when creating an introduction to a reel. Even better, you do not need to register it when you leave the country because it is considered a “flying camera” rather than a drone.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3
You may have seen all your favorite content creators with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I absolutely love my mind and use it to film every time I travel; sometimes I use it to film throughout the day. It is the perfect size and lets you film both short- and long-form videos with one device. You can adjust the settings to get the perfect film. I would not use it for pictures, but for film, this is perfect.
If this is out of price range, I would consider getting them an adapter so they can transfer their content from the camera to their computer.
Go Pro
If you have a traveler who loves adventure, like scuba diving, skiing, surfing, then this is perfect for them! I used mine when scuba diving and got amazing videos that I can still look back on. If they already have a GoPro, you could get them this mount so they can keep the GoPro in their hand while scuba diving. I have not yet updated my GoPro ot the latest one and still think this one works for me.
Ray Ban Meta Glasses
These are perfect for hands-free shooting, and literally everyone I know has them and loves them. I have been trying them out from my friends, and this will probably be my next purchase.
If you want a budget-friendly travel gift for your creator friend or yourself, you can also purchase phone lights and stands that make content creation easier.
Travel Gifts for the person who hates Airports
Airports can be intimidating, anxiety-inducing, and exhausting for those who travel often. However, there are travel gifts you can purchase that can make your time at the airport less daunting and maybe even enjoyable.

TSA Precheck and Clear
I do not have a Clear, but I know many people who do, so I included it as an option. However, Clear is not available at all airports. TSA Precheck, on the other hand, is a great tool to get through security. It has saved me so many times because if I have decided I am not going to the lounge, I tend to get to the airport about 30 minutes before boarding. This is the perfect travel gift for the traveler who is often late to the airport.
Global Entry
I love Global Entry. Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck, but it’s specifically for getting you back into the United States after international travel. It has helped me avoid the chaotic lines in Atlanta when connecting to NYC. Honestly, connecting through Atlanta always makes me nervous cause I feel like I will miss my flight, but after getting Global Entry, I no longer have to worry about missing connections cause the line has never been long. Knock on wood.
Lounge Access via Priority Pass
If your traveler does not have a credit card that grants lounge access, then Priority Pass could be the perfect gift. Priority Pass gives you access to lounges both domestically and internationally. In these lounges, you will be able to grab food and drinks and sometimes even a quiet place to rest before taking your flight. In many smaller airports, I have relied on Priority Pass to get into lounges before my flight. The Lounge in Cleveland had amazing apple pie one time, and combined with the margaritas, I was able to rest my entire ride back to NYC.
My Top 3 Picks, Gifts for Travelers
If I had to choose out of all the fits I have recommended, I would pick
As someone whose phone often dies and who loves to travel to countries where English is not always the primary language, I need to rely on a charged phone and the tutoring I have received. Finally, TSA PreCheck has been a game-changer, and I love being able to keep my shoes.
Gifts for the Traveler in Your Life
These are the perfect frequent flyer gifts for the traveler in your life.
If you do decide to purchase any of these gift ideas for your favorite traveler, I recommend using Rakuten or a credit card so you can earn points on the purchase and use them for yourself!

Save for Later
I’ve been meaning to try out italki, specifically for Spanish since speaking is my current weakness. Thanks for the stamp of approval, I’m putting this on my wishlist so Santa knows what to bring me haha 🙂
YAY! i absolutely love my tutor and I cant wait to get back to my lessons
