How to Get to Benmarl Winery

There are multiple ways to get to Benmarl Winery if you are leaving from the city.

  • Metro-North: When leaving the city, check out the Metro North, I left from Harlem 125th Station and took the train heading towards Poughkeepsie. My group got off at the Beacon Station but you can also get off at Poughkeepsie Station. My cost for the trip for the off-peak hours was $17.50 each way. From here, we took an uber to the winery!
  • Drive: You can rent a car through Expedia to drive to the Winery. There was plenty of parking. The winery was about 75 minutes from Harlem!

If you are feeling fancy, you and your group could rent a van to spend the day out there!

Food and Wine Tasting!- Benmarl Winery Prices

For your tasting, you get a few options. We got to choose from Sweet Flight $15, White Flight $15, Red Flight $15, or Estate Grown Flight for $20.

I ordered the sweet flight and absolutely loved it!

After the wine flights, you can indulge in more glasses of wine, sangria, or Strawberry Frose. We went in November and they had an amazing Apple Cider Sangria!

You have multiple food options: pizza, fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, crab cake sliders, and French fries. You must order food outside, and they will give you a buzzer so that you know when your food is ready. There was not a long wait for food when we were there. *Food is cash only and there is an atm onsite.

Walking around the Winery

Since I went in the winter, it was pretty cold, but I loved the layout and would go back. There are many photo opportunities.

Conclusion

This is a great day trip from the city if you are looking for something to do. I want to head back in the spring and possibly tour the estate in addition to another wine tasting. I would highly recommend making reservations before heading there and trying the Sangria!

They also have a wine club you can join while there if you enjoy their wines. You can have wines shipped to your or pick them up 4 times a year.

  1. I never really thought of doing a wine tasting in New York, to be honest, I never really knew that wineries existed there. I’ll give this a try the next time I am in New York. The food options sound like very interesting pairings, some of them I never would have thought to pair with wines.

  2. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in NYC, but haven’t ventured outside the city for wine tasting. Heading to Benmarl Winery looks like a fun afternoon.

  3. We’ve never visited much of New York, and so many areas outside of NYC looks like a great trip. Thanks for pushing me to go to New York in the Spring.
