Chase Q3 2024 Categories

Chase has announced its July 1 – September 30, 2024 bonus categories for Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex. This allows you to earn a 5% bonus on all spending for these categories.

Currently, the Chase categories are Amazon, Restaurants, and Hotels for Quarter 2: April 1 – June 30, 2024. Hopefully, you have already activated these as the deadline was June 14, 2024. Remember that even if you activated on June 14, you would still earn the points for the entire quarter! All purchases must be posted to your account by June 30, 2024.

What are the new Chase Categories for Q3?

Gas Stations, EV Charging, Select Live Entertainment, and Movie Theatres.

These are great categories for the summer months as many families head on summer vacations. With kids out of school, it is a great time to head to the movies and do activities outside and now you can earn 5% back on all of those purchases. I am most excited about Gas Stations due to my summer trips where I will be renting cars!

What is Select Live Entertainment Chase?

Select live entertainment includes major professional sporting events, zoos, aquariums, concerts, theatrical productions, museums, tourist attractions, and exhibits. In addition to amusement parks, circuses, carnivals, bands, and entertainers, it includes ticket agencies.

How do I make sure I am earning the bonus for Chase Categories Q3?

You need to activate the bonus categories and you can do that today! There are 6 ways to do that:

Online: you can click here to activate
Email: check your email for activation
Chase Mobile App: log into the app to activate
Phone: call the number on the back of your card and a customer service rep can activate it for you.
Chase: you can speak to a teller to help you activate the categories.
ATM: If you are a Chase checking customer, you can activate the categories when withdrawing money.

Is there a limit to how much you can earn from the Chase Categories?

Yes, you are limited to $1,500. This can be tracked on the website. Once you reach the limit, it goes back down to 1%.

Is there a deadline to activate Chase categories?

Yes, more than likely it will be around September 14/15. It has not been published yet but based on the past quarter this is my estimate. All purchases must be posted to your accounts by September 30, 2024, to receive the additional bonus points/cashback.

I would highly recommend activating this offer to boost your monthly earnings even if you are unsure about your spending in these categories at the moment. Using this strategy was how I increased my points in the past few months when the categories were Hotels, Amazon, and Restaurants! This is a great way to start funding future travel.
